Cosmo Oil Marketing Co., Ltd.

Cosmo Oil Marketing Co., Ltd. (hereafter, "Cosmo Oil Marketing"), a subsidiary of Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., will begin supplying 100% renewable energy-derived electricity to 68 municipal facilities, including elementary and junior high schools, in Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture, on October 1, 2025¹.

Ichihara City aims to become a "Zero-Carbon City" by reducing the greenhouse gas emissions from its administrative operations by approximately 50% by FY2030 compared to FY2013 levels, and achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050².

As an initiative to contribute to the realization of these targets, Cosmo Oil Marketing will offer its renewable energy-derived electricity plan, Cosmo Denki (Electricity) Business Green³, to Ichihara City facilities covered under the agreement. The plan provides renewable energy-derived electricity, endorsed by a non-fossil certificate with tracking information linked to a renewable energy source that falls under Japan’s Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) scheme, such as wind power generated by Cosmo Eco Power Co., Ltd., a Cosmo Energy Group company.

With the introduction of Cosmo Denki (Electricity) Business Green, annual electricity consumption of approximately 6.35 million kilowatt hours (kWh)⁴ by 68 Ichihara City facilities will be converted to renewable energy-derived electricity, resulting in an annual emissions reduction of approximately 2,595 tons. This is equivalent to approximately 11% of the electricity consumed across the city's administrative operations⁵.

Going forward, Cosmo Oil Marketing remains committed to supporting local governments and companies in reducing their environmental impact and will continue to undertake various initiatives toward the realization of a decarbonized society.
