Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd.

Cosmo Oil Marketing Co., Ltd.

Cosmo Oil Marketing Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “the Company”), a subsidiary of Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., has introduced one electric vehicle (EV) for use as an official vehicle and installed two standard charging stations at Kamagaya City Hall, Chiba Prefecture. By utilizing 100% renewable energy-derived electricity that is already supplied to the building, the official EV will meet the “Zero Carbon Drive”¹ initiative's goal of achieving carbon dioxide (CO2) emission-free driving. In addition, Kamagaya City will make the newly installed EV charging stations available for public use, thereby promoting decarbonization in the local community.

Since December 2023, Kamagaya City has adopted the Company's renewable energy-derived electricity plan, “Cosmo Denki (Electricity) Business Green,”² at 30 facilities, including City Hall as well as elementary and junior high schools, with total annual electricity consumption of approximately six million kilowatt-hours (kWh). In this most recent move, the Company made EV charging via City Hall’s renewable electricity possible by performing electrical installation work to connect standard charging stations to onsite cubicle-type high-voltage power receiving equipment. As a result, the City’s official EV can be charged using electricity derived from wind power generated by Cosmo Eco Power Co., Ltd., a Cosmo Energy Group company, thereby achieving emission-free driving. This initiative was implemented as part of the Company's “Cosmo Zero Carbon Solution”³ service.

With the introduction of Cosmo Denki (Electricity) Business Green, Kamagaya City achieved an approximately 46% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from its administrative operations in FY2024 compared with the base year (FY2016). By making the newly installed EV charging stations available to the public for a fee, the City aims to further accelerate decarbonization efforts across the local community.

Going forward, the Company remains committed to supporting local governments and companies in reducing their environmental impact and will continue to undertake various initiatives toward the realization of a decarbonized society.
