Cosmo Eco Power Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Cosmo Eco Power”) has entered into a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement¹ (hereafter, “the PPA”) with Saison Technology Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Saison Technology”) for the supply of electricity to power Saison Technology's data centers, beginning April 1, 2026.
The PPA covers wind power-generated green electricity supplied by Cosmo Eco Power's Aizu-Wakamatsu Wind Farm. The facility makes the most of the area’s capacity for wind power generation to produce sustainable, clean electricity, in harmony with the local community.
To date, Saison Technology has been expanding its use of renewable energy. Given that data centers operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, securing a power source that aligns with their consumption patterns is critical. By utilizing a wind power-based PPA, which provides generation distributed across different times of day, Saison Technology has better matched its power supply with its consumption patterns. As a result, Saison Technology expects to reduce its CO₂ emissions by approximately 900 tons annually. In addition, with the execution of the PPA, the Company has achieved 100% renewable energy usage across all its facilities, including data centers.
As a member of the Cosmo Energy Group, Cosmo Eco Power is working toward achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Meanwhile, Saison Technology is advancing the development of environmentally friendly IT infrastructure under its mission to “Connect the world’s data and make it useful for everyone.” Going forward, both companies will continue to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society by expanding the use of renewable energy, while also supporting the sustainable development of local communities.
