PACIFIC METALS CO., LTD.
Cosmo Eco Power Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Cosmo Eco Power”), a subsidiary of Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., and PACIFIC METALS CO., LTD. (hereafter, “Pacific Metals”) have entered into a physical Power Purchase Agreement (PPA; hereafter, “the PPA”)* covering an onshore wind power plant in Aomori Prefecture, with Cosmo Eco Power commencing supply of renewable energy-derived electricity to Pacific Metals on October 1, 2026. Pacific Metals, an electricity retailer, plans to supply electricity and environmental value procured under the PPA to consumers in Aomori Prefecture. Through this initiative, the two companies will promote the local production, delivery, and use of renewable energy-derived electricity within Aomori Prefecture. This marks the first time that Cosmo Eco Power has supplied electricity through a local generation for local consumption-type PPA in this region.
The PPA covers Shin-Iwaya Wind Park, an onshore wind power plant operated by Cosmo Eco Power in Higashidori Village, Shimokita District, Aomori Prefecture. The facility generates approximately 70 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually. As the electricity retailer, Pacific Metals plans to procure a portion of the electricity generated by Shin-Iwaya Wind Park, along with its associated environmental value, under the PPA and supply it to consumers in Aomori Prefecture.
Structure of the PPA
Through the PPA, the two companies will work to promote locally generated, locally consumed renewable energy-derived electricity within Aomori Prefecture, contribute to the development of local energy businesses and decarbonization, and ensure harmony with local communities.
