Cosmo Eco Power Concludes Virtual PPA with JR Kyushu~Harnessing Renewable Energy from Oita Wind Farm to Power the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen~

Cosmo Eco Power Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Cosmo Eco Power”), a subsidiary of Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., has entered into a virtual Power Purchase Agreement (PPA; hereafter, “the PPA”)¹ with Kyushu Railway Company (hereafter, “JR Kyushu”), effective January 5, 2026.
The PPA covers Cosmo Eco Power's Oita Wind Farm, which commenced commercial operations in April 2023 and supplies electricity to the Kyushu area, where JR Kyushu operates. Through this agreement, the environmental value received by JR Kyushu will be applied to a portion of the electricity used by the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen.
As a member of the Cosmo Energy Group, Cosmo Eco Power aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. In addition, JR Kyushu has also set the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 under its “JR Kyushu Group Environmental Vision 2050.” Going forward, both companies remain committed to contributing to the wider adoption of renewable energy and the development of local communities, aiming to realize a carbon-neutral society.
