Cosmo Energy Solutions and Partners Initiate an Off-Site PPA Scheme Utilizing Surplus Electricity from Tokyo Nohin Daiko's Narita Fashion Logistics Center I, a First for the Senko Group

Cosmo Energy Solutions Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Cosmo Energy Solutions”), a subsidiary of Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., together with Tokyo Nohin Daiko Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Tokyo Nohin Daiko”), Daiwa House Group company DAIWA ENERGY CO., LTD. (hereafter, “Daiwa Energy”), and Senko Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Senko”), is pleased to announce the launch, on June 1, 2026, of a new power project. The project combines an on-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)¹ for the solar power generation system installed at Narita Fashion Logistics Center I (Tomisato City, Chiba Prefecture; hereafter, “Narita FLC I”), a logistics facility operated by Tokyo Nohin Daiko, with an off-site PPA² that utilizes surplus electricity generated at the center.

1. Overview of the Initiative

The on-site PPA in this project has been in effect since February 27, 2024, with Daiwa Energy acting as the power producer responsible for engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), operation, and maintenance of the solar power generation system, and Tokyo Nohin Daiko consuming electricity generated on-site at Narita FLC I as the customer. Until now, surplus electricity remaining following on-site consumption at Narita FLC I had been transmitted to the power grid through the general transmission and distribution utility under the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme. However, in order to maximize the use of renewable electricity within the Senko Group, the parties decided to newly incorporate an off-site PPA into the existing arrangement.

Surplus electricity from Narita FLC I will be supplied by Cosmo Energy Solutions, serving as the electricity retailer, via the utility power grid to Tokyo Bay Fashion Arena (Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture; hereafter “TBFA”), another Tokyo Nohin Daiko logistics facility. Senko will take the lead in establishing the project’s operational framework　and will continue expanding supply to other facilities within the group going forward.

By building a framework for the effective utilization of renewable energy-derived electricity, the four companies aim to advance decarbonization while enabling more efficient energy use.

To expand the use of renewable energy, Tokyo Nohin Daiko, with the support of Daiwa Energy and Cosmo Energy Solutions, has established a new off-site PPA model to supply TBFA with surplus electricity generated by the solar power generation system installed at Narita FLC I under the on-site PPA. We remain committed to further expanding the use of renewable energy, reducing the environmental impact of our business activities, and contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.

▪️Daiwa Energy

Daiwa Energy operates power generation projects at 188 locations nationwide, with a total capacity of 337 MW as of June 1, 2026, handling all aspects in-house, from business planning to construction, operation, and maintenance. Under on-site PPAs as well, we operate solar power generation systems at 28 locations nationwide, with a combined capacity of approximately 35 MW as of June 1, 2026.

Looking ahead, we will leverage the knowledge and expertise cultivated as a power producer through this project to continue providing optimal solutions for customers in adopting renewable energy and maximizing the use of power sources, while contributing to the further expansion of renewable energy in Japan.

For the Senko Group, this initiative represents our first off-site PPA and marks an important step toward advancing the effective use of renewable energy. In this project, we helped establish the operational framework from the perspective of group-wide optimization, while coordinating with the relevant companies with a view to inter-site collaboration.

Going forward, we will continue contributing to the expansion of renewable energy use and the realization of a decarbonized society through a range of initiatives.
